Wednesday 2 September 2020
Have you thought of any good gift ideas for your dads, husbands, and granddads yet? Dads are notoriously hard to buy for, and when Father's Day rolls around it can sometimes be hard to find something they really want. Whilst they may not always show it, men love to be spoilt and pampered, especially on their special day! So why not get the kids involved and make your gift something unique and memorable so you can make your dad feel extra special and treat him to something a bit different.
1. BREAKFAST IN BED
Surprise Dad with a coffee in bed, paired with a few slices of Banana Bread. Warm the bread in the microwave for 30 seconds and top with butter. If Dad has more of a sweet tooth, add some sliced banana and Nutella for an extra treat. Dad will love a lazy morning in bed with this delicious breakfast.
2. OUTDOOR/INDOOR PICNIC
If you’re Dad’s idea of the perfect Father’s Day means spending time with the family, depending on the weather, plan an indoor or outdoor picnic. If it’s nice outside, pack up a basket with some snacks, treats and a picnic blanket, and head to a nearby park or the beach. If it’s cold or raining, set up an indoor picnic in the living room. This is a fun way for the family to spend some quality time together with Dad. Make sure dad stays relaxed and feels spoiled while the family serves him lunch and makes a fuss over him.
3. LAZY DAY ON THE COUCH
Any way you can pamper Dad for the day will be hugely appreciated. Some Dads will LOVE a lazy day on the couch, watching Netflix and snacking on his favourite foods all day. Make sure to stock the fridge and pantry with all Dad’s favourites, as well as a few drinks, so he can relax all day in front of the TV.
4. BACKYARD CAMPING
Pitch your tents and surprise dad with some backyard camping. Fix up the tent so his bed is as comfortable as possible so he will have a good night’s sleep. Don’t forget the other traditional camping must have’s: campfire cooking, marshmallows for toasting, snacks and some good ol’ camping stories, songs and singalongs.

With social media ever present in today's’ society, you probably find yourself sending dad messages via Facebook messenger or text messages on a regular basis but when was the last time you really told him how much you love him and what he means to you? Simple gestures like this can mean a lot and the best thing is that it costs nothing!
